Hanoi University of Civil Engineering Becomes a Key National Institution in Architecture and Construction

According to Decision No. 452/QĐ-TTg dated February 27, 2025, issued by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, approving the Master Plan for the Network of Higher Education and Pedagogical Institutions for the Period 2021–2030, with a Vision to 2050, the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has been recognized as one of five key national higher education institutions in the fields of engineering and technology (excluding national and regional universities).

Specifically, HUCE is designated as a key institution for the disciplines of Architecture and Construction.

In addition, under Appendix II of the Decision — listing priority programs and investment projects for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050HUCE (in Hanoi and Ha Nam) is included among priority projects for upgrading and developing key institutions in engineering and technology, both before and after 2030.

The master plan aims to develop a higher education network focused on STEM disciplines with over one million learners, including 7% at the master’s level and 1% at the doctoral level. Institutions with strong STEM research and education capacity will receive priority investment aligned with regional socio-economic development strategies.

In particular, universities with strengths in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, construction, and transportation will be prioritized for development in regions such as the Northeast, Red River Delta, North Central Coast, South Central Coast, Southeast, and Can Tho urban area.
