On Tuesday morning (December 16, 2025), at the Conference Hall on the 2nd Floor of the Library of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management (CEM) successfully organized its regular professional roundtable discussion entitled “Bidding and Post-Bidding Activities from the Contractor’s Perspective – Ecoba Vietnam Joint Stock Company.”

   The event was honored to welcome a delegation of experts from Ecoba Vietnam Joint Stock Company, including Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung – Vice General Director, Mr. Nguyen Duy Quy – Technical Director, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Truy – Planning Specialist, along with faculty members, researchers, and a large number of students from both within and outside the Faculty.

 The specialized roundtable session consisted of two main parts:

💫 Part 1: Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung – Vice General Director of Ecoba Vietnam Joint Stock Company shared the Company’s practical experience in bid preparation and post-award activities.

💫 Part 2: An active and in-depth Q&A and discussion session involving experts, faculty members, and researchers from both within and outside the Faculty on various related issues. Several notable questions raised during the roundtable included:

✨ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Dang Quang raised a question regarding the basis on which contractors decide whether to participate in a bidding process, as well as how the new legal regulations on bidding affect contractors;

✨ Dr. Nguyen Van Cu asked about the key lessons learned by contractors when participating in projects funded by state capital compared to those funded by private capital;

✨ Prof. Dr. Sci., Meritorious Educator Nguyen Mau Banh raised a question concerning the application of technologies (BIM, AI, etc.) in bidding activities within the company;

✨ Dr. Dang Van Dua asked about the contents of the bidding implementation process and issues arising after contract award;

✨ Dr. Nguyen Thu Hang raised a question related to the preparation of the overall construction schedule;

✨ Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh asked about the principles of work package segmentation and the employer’s perspective on the quality of graduates from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering;

✨ Along with many other lively and insightful discussion contributions from participating experts.

 With the enthusiastic participation of experts actively engaged in practical bidding activities, this specialized roundtable session enabled faculty members of the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management to gain a clearer understanding of the procedures and objectives of bid document preparation, as well as the preparation of post-award submission dossiers for investor approval. The session also highlighted the differences and levels of detail between bidding documents and post-award documentation.

 Moreover, this roundtable session provided an excellent platform for academic exchange, effectively bridging theoretical knowledge with professional practice. It created numerous opportunities for dialogue and the sharing of practical experience between the University and industry representatives, thereby contributing to the improvement of academic programs to better meet the practical needs of employers.
