On Sunday, 1 February 2026, the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering successfully held the first Graduation Design Project Defence Session for Cohort 66 Engineering students. The event took place on the sixth floor of the H1 Lecture Hall and was conducted in a formal and professional atmosphere across ten defence panels. Nearly 200 students from Cohorts 65 and 66 attended the event, accompanied by their families and friends, who came to offer their encouragement and celebrate this important academic milestone.

With thorough preparation in disciplinary knowledge and scientific research methods, together with confidence and composure, the Faculty’s Engineering students successfully delivered convincing defences of their Graduation Design Projects. Each project demonstrated not only the students’ professional competence, analytical and synthesising skills, and ability to engage in critical discussion, but also the sustained effort they had devoted to learning and personal development throughout their academic journey with the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management.

A distinctive feature of this Graduation Design Project Defence Session was the direct participation of representatives from industry as members of the graduation assessment panels. Through practice-oriented questions grounded in professional requirements and real workplace contexts, the presentation and question-and-answer sessions offered students a range of perspectives, enabling them to compare and assess more clearly the alignment between the knowledge and skills acquired at the University and the current demands of the labour market.

The professional feedback and constructive recommendations provided by industry representatives not only enabled the Faculty’s Engineering students to further strengthen their knowledge and professional mindset, but also offered clearer direction for their career development after graduation. This serves as a compelling testament to the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management’s commitment to practice-oriented education and its continuous efforts to strengthen collaboration between the University and industry.
