The Real Estate Economics and Management major provides basic and practical knowledge in the field of real estate management and business. Students studying this major will be equipped with basic knowledge of construction engineering and in-depth knowledge of real estate economics and management.

In addition, students are trained in soft skills (communication skills, leadership, teamwork, time management, etc.) and professional skills (collecting information, analyzing economic, market, policy, and legal factors related to real estate management and business; project planning and management skills; applying information technology and modern equipment to support work, etc.).

What’s New in the Real Estate Economics and Management Program at the University of Civil Engineering?
Starting from the 2020–2021 academic year, the University of Civil Engineering adopted the new national qualification framework, offering two levels: Bachelor and Engineer. Students can choose their path at the end of the 3rd year.

  • Engineer Program: The standard study duration is 5.5 years, with the Engineer degree recognized at the master’s level in the future.

  • Bachelor Program: Students who wish to graduate earlier can choose this option, with a duration of 3.5–4 years, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management – specializing in Real Estate Economics and Management.

Compared to the Engineer program, the Bachelor program reduces some courses, particularly advanced construction engineering subjects, focusing instead on subjects that serve professional work after graduation, such as Real Estate Economics, Real Estate Brokerage and Transactions, Condominium Management, Applied IT for Real Estate Management, and Real Estate Valuation.

Graduates who wish to pursue higher education can return for a Master’s degree, which takes approximately 1.5 years.

Curriculum for the Bachelor Program (New Framework):

  1. General Knowledge: Advanced Mathematics, Basic English, Political Science, Basic Information Technology.

  2. Core and Interdisciplinary Knowledge: Microeconomics, Fundamentals of Management Science, Technical Drawing, Structural Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Soil Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Construction Techniques, Building Technical Systems.

  3. Specialized Knowledge: Real Estate Economics, Investment Economics, Construction Economics, Real Estate Management, Real Estate Brokerage and Transactions, Real Estate Marketing, Real Estate Valuation, Real Estate Investment and Business Law, Applied IT for Real Estate Management.

After completing coursework, students undertake a 1-month internship before submitting their graduation thesis/project.

Currently, many companies in the real estate sector have partnered with the university to support students in internships and practical training at projects that the companies are implementing. They are also ready to recruit students to work immediately after graduation. This presents a significant opportunity for students choosing this major. Students not only learn theoretical knowledge but also receive guidance on applying that knowledge to real-world projects, while gaining valuable experience to build their future careers.
