In today’s context of international integration, having only professional knowledge is not enough; it is also essential to be proficient in at least one foreign language, most commonly English. Therefore, joining the English-taught Construction Economics program is an excellent opportunity to ensure a promising future for students after graduation.
Students in this program will not only gain in-depth knowledge of their field but also have the opportunity to improve their English proficiency. According to the curriculum, during the first two years, students will study foundational courses in Vietnamese and participate in intensive English classes. In the third year, core and specialized courses will be delivered in English.
Regarding academic opportunities, students in the Construction Economics program have the chance to transfer to Victoria University (Australia) for a second degree, pursue a joint master’s program between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and University of Liege (Belgium) or National Taiwan University (NTU), or receive tuition support for studying a master’s degree at Queen’s University Belfast (UK). Participating in this program allows students to experience high-quality education, advanced curricula aligned with international standards, and lectures from visiting professors from prestigious universities. Additionally, students will be trained in soft skills highly valued by employers.
Regarding career prospects, with strong English skills, graduates of the program will have numerous opportunities to work in joint ventures or foreign companies, holding attractive positions and salaries in professional and ideal working environments. They may also engage in research at domestic and international educational and research institutions.
Entry Requirements: English proficiency is not mandatory for admission, but applicants with good English skills will be prioritized. Students who are not yet proficient in English can still join the program, as English will be strengthened progressively throughout their studies.
Exit Requirements: Following the 2020 National Foreign Language Project, all students at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering must achieve a minimum TOEIC score of 450 to qualify for graduation. For students in other programs, they would need to enroll in external TOEIC courses at their own expense. Achieving a score of 450 requires personal effort and a significant financial investment.
In the English-taught Construction Economics program, English will be enhanced according to a structured curriculum at the university. Determined students are expected to meet or exceed the required TOEIC score, ensuring graduation eligibility and strong career prospects. Additionally, the quality of English instructors will be closely monitored by the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management, so students can focus on studying, and parents need not worry about the quality of education.
Tuition is charged at the standard rate applicable to all students of the university. In addition, students pay extra fees for English courses and specialized courses taught in English, which are equal to or lower than the standard tuition.
