On July 11, 2026, a delegation of lecturers from the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), conducted a practical visit, study, and professional exchange at the National Assembly Building, located at No. 1 Doc Lap Street, Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi.

The National Assembly Building is a large-scale landmark with strict requirements regarding architecture, engineering, security, safety, and operational organization. It serves not only as the headquarters of the National Assembly—the highest representative organ of the people and the highest state power organ of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam—but also as an iconic structure that harmoniously integrates modern architecture with the rich historical and cultural values of the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long.

As part of the visit, the delegation of lecturers was introduced to the architectural concepts of the structure, key functional spaces, technical equipment systems, as well as the management, exploitation, and operational workflows of the building. The delegation also toured the Dien Hong Hall—the main chamber for plenary sessions of the National Assembly—along with several functional spaces dedicated to the activities of the National Assembly and its related organs.

One of the special highlights of the program was the archaeological exhibition area located beneath the National Assembly Building. Here, the lecturers explored architectural vestiges, relics, and artifacts from various historical periods, spanning from the Dai La and Dinh – Early Le dynasties to the Ly, Tran, and Le dynasties. Preserving and showcasing these archaeological heritages right within a modern structure vividly demonstrates a harmonious connection between past and present, bridging the conservation of historical values with construction investment and urban development.

The trip not only offered meaningful experiences in history, culture, and architecture, but also provided a valuable opportunity for lecturers to exchange and update practical knowledge on managing and operating a special public landmark with large-scale and high technical requirements. The insights and experiences gained from this program will serve as useful source materials, directly contributing to teaching, scientific research, and student mentorship in the fields of construction economics, project management, facility management and operations, and construction consultancy.
