 In the context of international integration and digital transformation, Construction Economics is a highly application-oriented discipline that integrates knowledge of economics, management, finance, investment, and construction engineering. Graduates have opportunities to work in a wide range of positions, including project management, cost management, bidding and procurement, construction investment consultancy, construction and real estate enterprises, and state management agencies.

Building on the strengths of the Construction Economics discipline, the English-medium Construction Economics Class (KTE) has been developed by the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, with reference to advanced academic programmes at Victoria University (Australia) and Queen’s University Belfast (United Kingdom). The programme has been implemented since the 2015–2016 academic year.

Why Choose KTE?

KTE students are equipped with comprehensive and in-depth professional knowledge of construction economics, project management, cost management, and financial analysis in construction investment. At the same time, they develop the ability to use English effectively for academic and professional purposes, with an expected foreign-language proficiency equivalent to Levels 4–6 of the Vietnam’s 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent and above).

The programme also places strong emphasis on developing professional and digital skills, including critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, negotiation, presentation, Building Information Modeling (BIM), cost management software, and data analysis. Students have opportunities to participate in academic exchanges, internships, and research activities with international partners, thereby progressively developing the competencies required to work effectively in international and multicultural environments.

In addition, KTE encourages students to engage in scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, technology application, and new management models oriented towards sustainable development and the green economy. The programme also fosters professional ethics, social responsibility, and adaptability to the global labour market.

During the programme, students are provided with opportunities to:

• Study a wide range of foundational and specialised courses in English;
• Participate in seminars delivered by lecturers and international experts;
• Visit construction sites, projects, and enterprises;
• Receive training in e-bidding, quantity take-off, construction cost estimating, and specialised English.

Upon graduation, students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded:

A full-time undergraduate degree in the corresponding discipline/specialisation, together with a Diploma Supplement in accordance with applicable regulations;

A Certificate of Completion of the English-medium Programme in the corresponding discipline/specialisation issued by Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

In the 2026–2027 academic year, the Faculty will continue to recruit students for the English-medium Construction Economics Class 71KTE, with a minimum intake target of 50 students.

Newly admitted Cohort 71 students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering who achieve an admission score equal to or higher than the benchmark score for the Construction Economics programme (24.92 points) are eligible to apply for selection to Class 71KTE.
